First and foremost a creative thinker, Ghislain Cyr understands artists and knows how to inspire them. He also has unique expertise in the fields of technology and business, enabling him to carry out exciting projects for Sphere Media, from finding international partners to making financial arrangements to supervising content. After starting out as a CGI artist in the late 1980s, he was involved in software development at Softimage, a pioneer in 3D animation. While at Public Technologies Multimedia, he headed the production of Mon Mannequin Virtuel, a cutting-edge virtual modelling simulation program. He also served as Production Director at Behaviour Studios, and Vice-President of Operations at 4elements, a specialist in 3D visualization and cinematic scenes for the video game industry. Drawing on all these experiences, he launched Sardine Productions in 2002. Under his leadership for 20 years, this production company made its reputation with several original animated series, locally and on international markets. Its hits include Leon (winner of a Gémeaux award for best animated program or series), My Goldfish is Evil!, Chop Chop Ninja, ToonMarty and The Game Catchers. Ghislain brought his many talents to Sphere Animation when Sphere Media acquired Sardine Productions in 2022.
