Comic and Anime Character Creation

Comic and Anime Character Creation is an interactive workshop focused on the art of designing expressive, original characters for comics and anime. Led by artist Areef Albadwi (Mecot) and joined by industry professionals including Harvey Tolibao, Freely Abrigo, Mo Abedin, and others, the session guides participants through creative exercises that reveal how facial expressions and visual features bring characters to life.
Key points include exploring the fundamentals of character design through quick sketching, experimenting with different drawing styles and expressions, and developing unique personalities and backstories for each character. By the end of this workshop, attendees will have created an original character in their own style and gained practical skills to enhance their storytelling through art.
