Doug Sweetland
Director & Animator
Doug Sweetland is a director and animator whose work helped shape Pixar’s early films, including Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles. He won back-to-back Annie Awards for animation, and his directorial debut, the Pixar short Presto, earned Annie and Oscar nominations.
Beyond Pixar, Sweetland launched Google’s VR series Spotlight Stories with Windy Day and later co-directed the animated feature Storks with Nick Stoller. He currently directs branded content with Psyop while continuing to work across independent animation and emerging technology.
At SACC, Sweetland will share insights from Presto and his Pixar career, exploring story, performance, and timing, and reflecting on the craft behind some of animation’s most influential modern films.
