Hala Alhaid

Hala Alhaid is an animation director and writer whose work centers on character-driven, personal storytelling. Based in Riyadh, she is known for shorts including The Palm Witch, which screened at major festivals and was acquired by Netflix Middle East, as well as The Dark Cloud and ETERNAL.
Her films span stop-motion, 3D, and 2D animation, reflecting a practice shaped by both visual craft and a strong writing-directing perspective. She is currently developing new original projects, including a feature-length adaptation of The Palm Witch and the animated short Desert Goldfish.
At SACC, Hala Alhaid will share insights into animation story development, drawing on her experience building emotionally focused narratives across different techniques and formats.
