Mahmoud Hemeda
CEO & Co-Founder — Samaka Studio
Mahmoud Hemeda is CEO and Co-Founder of Samaka Studio, an animation director and producer known for championing authentic Egyptian and African visual culture through animation. With more than 13 years of experience, he has worked across a wide range of animation styles on films including Hateer and Farkha Wa Laken.
In 2018, he co-founded both Samaka Studio and the Animatex Animation Festival, helping build stronger platforms for Egyptian and African animation internationally. His work focuses on cultural storytelling, production development, and growing the presence of regional animation within the wider MENA industry.
At SACC, Hemeda will explore Building Animation Across Borders, sharing insights into independent animation production and strategies for financing and distributing animation internationally. Attendees can expect practical perspectives on connecting regional content with global audiences.
