Kawtar Waddi, also known as Sanjaune, is a film director and multidisciplinary artist working across animation, sound documentary, and visual art. Her practice centers on the social and emotional dynamics between people and their environments.
Her work brings together moving image, sound, and visual experimentation, with a focus on personal and collective experience. Trained in fine arts and currently pursuing curatorial studies, she approaches filmmaking through both artistic practice and critical inquiry.
At SACC, Waddi will speak in “Independent Animation Filmmaking, Where a Short Film Begins - Creative Sparks from Arab Women Directors,” sharing insights into how short animated films take shape and where the first creative impulses begin.
