Shuzo Shiota

Shuzo John Shiota is CEO of Polygon Pictures, where he has led the studio since 2003 and helped build its international presence in animation and screen content. His work has positioned Polygon as a major producer of TV series and projects aimed at global audiences.
Before becoming CEO, Shiota was involved in the launch of Dream Pictures Studio and later joined Polygon, where he went on to shape the company’s growth overseas. He has also served as a judge at leading international events including SIGGRAPH, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and Prix Ars Electronica, and chaired SIGGRAPH Asia in 2021. In 2022, he received a Special Achievement Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival.
At SACC, Shiota will share insights from more than 40 years of Polygon Pictures, along with practical lessons on succeeding in the creative industry and the producer’s role in building animation for international markets.
