Building Worlds That Feel Alive
Workshop · Day 2 · Fri 23 October 2026, 4:45 pm – 6:15 pm · Aljada, Sharjah
Building Worlds That Feel Alive is an interactive workshop exploring the art of creating original fantasy worlds that feel authentic and lived-in. Led by mixed-media artist and author Jalal Luqman, the session draws on his multidisciplinary experience to reveal how environments, histories, cultures, and belief systems shape both worlds and their inhabitants.
Key points include discovering how small details can spark worldbuilding, understanding the role of environment and culture in making imagined places believable, and using discussion and shared ideas to develop unique settings and creatures. By the end of this workshop, participants—whether beginners or aspiring creators—will have practical tools and inspiration to build immersive worlds for their own stories.
