Jalal Luqman
Mixed-Media Artist / Author
Jalal Luqman is a mixed-media artist and author best known as one of the UAE’s early digital art pioneers. Since introducing digital art into his practice in 1996, he has built a body of work that combines digital techniques with painting, metal, wood, and sculpture, and is widely recognized for his large-scale mixed-media pieces and international exhibitions.
Alongside his studio practice, Luqman has been an active advocate and mentor within the Emirati arts community, helping support the growth of contemporary art in the UAE. His cross-disciplinary approach makes him especially relevant to conversations around visual worldbuilding and creative experimentation.
At SACC, Luqman will explore myth, perspective, and immersive storytelling through Creatures of the Gulf: The Stories That Kept Us Home, Who’s Afraid of Us? Through the Creature’s Eyes, and Beyond the Last Known Sky - Building Worlds That Feel Alive.
