Ashish Thapar is the CEO of HiTech Animation Studios, where he leads one of India’s growing animation and post-production companies. With more than two decades in animation, production, and creative leadership, he has worked with major entertainment companies including The Walt Disney Company, Netflix, Sony Pictures Entertainment, The Jim Henson Company, Dharma Productions, and Yash Raj Films.
At HiTech Animation Studios, Thapar has helped expand the studio’s capabilities across 2D and 3D animation, VFX, and end-to-end production, while building international collaborations across Europe, South Korea, and Turkey. He has also focused on developing original Indian IP for global audiences.
At SACC, Thapar will share insights from “From a Local Story to a Netflix Global Animation - Producing Kurukshetra: The Great War of Mahabharata,” exploring how Indian storytelling can be developed for international animation audiences.
