Doug Sweetland is a director and animator best known for his work at Pixar on landmark films including Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles. He won back-to-back Annie Awards for his animation, and his directorial debut, the Pixar short Presto, was nominated for both an Annie Award and an Oscar.

His work spans animation, feature filmmaking, and emerging technology. Sweetland’s pitch Windy Day launched Google’s Spotlight Stories VR series, and he later co-directed the animated feature Storks with live-action writer-director Nick Stoller. He currently directs branded content with Psyop while continuing to work across independent animation and new storytelling platforms.

At SACC, Sweetland will share insights from Presto and his Pixar career in sessions on directing, story, performance, and timing, as well as lessons from the studio’s early era through its rise from Toy Story onward.
