Mbuotidem Johnson is the founder and CEO of Basement Animation, a Lagos-based studio focused on animation and audiovisual production. A producer with more than 15 years of experience, he has led work recognized internationally, including Halim’s Vote, which won Best International Film at the Toronto Animation Arts Festival International in 2022.

His recent credits also include The Xpaits, officially selected in competition at Annecy 2024. Johnson is also a founding member of Animation Nigeria, reflecting his continued role in supporting the growth of the country’s animation industry.

At SACC, Johnson will bring production-focused insight to conversations around Smart Production - Data-Driven Animation Pipelines and Women Leading the Narrative Shift, drawing on his experience building animation projects and studio workflows.
